Beauty Tips From Beth

It's time for me to share some personal beauty tips.

Why? Who knows? Just seems like the right thing to do on a Friday night. So here goes.

A few months ago I started experiencing the pubescent joy of acne. Twenty-five years past my teenaged days, I found myself staring in the mirror at raging, red inflamed pores. Zits. Nasty ones. Big, messy, painful ones. The ugly kind that you can't turn away from; the kind that compel stares.

Great.

I figured it was hormones. Assumed it came with the territory of being a woman of a certain age. Assumed it would eventually pass.

Then I took a look at the new moisturizer I'd been using since December. I had two, actually - one for daytime use and one for night. ("Defying aging" and all that - I'm loading up on products to keep that youthful complexion and fight those wrinkles....)

Here's the one I'd been using every day:

"Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion". Good stuff.

And here's the one I'd been using every night:

"Youth Surge SPF 15 Age Decelerating Moisturizer".

Yes, you read that right. My "night-time" moisturizer had an Sun Protection Factor of 15.

And why did I need any factor of Sun Protection at night? Oh, I don't know. MAYBE THERE WAS A CHANCE THAT THE BURNING HOT ULTRAVIOLET RAYS OF THE MOON WOULD LEAK THROUGH THE WINDOW SHADES AND FRY MY SKIN.

Here's your tip for the day, folks:

DON'T WEAR SUNSCREEN TO BED. YOUR FACE WILL BREAK OUT.

I now wear the sunscreen DURING THE DAY and the other stuff AT NIGHT and guess what?

PIMPLE FREE!

You're welcome.

this post rules.

also, it wouldn't surprise me if i got sunburned by the moon... being a ridiculously pale, fair skinned ginger and all that. at least your gingers get cute freckles!

I have a whole differen't take on zits my dear....Occasionally..still at age 65.... one of those eruptive critters will show up on my face. Upon discovering said pimple...I immediately go find Pat to display the blemish and declare it as a sign of my still youthful verility! "I still got it, Babe!" is usually my exclamation!

Glad you figured out it was all night application of the the moonbeam defying SPF 15.

However, when I saw the name "youth surge" my first thought was it probably has teen hormones implanted in it, giving you truly youthful, pimply skin.

Smells like teen spirit...
