Worship Music - What Works For You?

So I'm wondering, as I contemplate music for the rest of this series:

What THREE songs would YOU choose as those which best allow you to connect with God in an awesome worship experience at your church?

This is almost certainly no help at all. But for what it's worth:

"O Monogenis Ios ke Logos tou Theou athanatos iparhon ke katadexamenos dia tin imeteran sotirian sarkothine ek tis Agias Theotokou ke aiparthenou Marias, atreptos enanthropisas, stavrothis te, Hriste o Theos, thanato thanaton patisas, is on tis Agias Triados sindoxazomenos to Patri ke to Agio Pnevmati, soson imas."

Translation: Only begotten Son and Word of God, although immortal You humbled Yourself for our salvation, taking flesh from the holy Theotokos and ever virgin Mary and, without change, becoming man. Christ, our God, You were crucified but conquered death by death. You are one of the Holy Trinity, glorified with the Father and the Holy Spirit-save us."

It's not magic, but it's close. :) I would teach you the tune if you weren't so dang far away.

How do you do this each week? There is such a tremendous amount of good music out there, I can't imagine having to pick only a few for each week's service. Really gave me a whole new appreciation for what you do day in and day out. ~ Any song that really speaks of the attributes of God is what really helps me to worship, although 2 of my personal favorites are "I Can Only Imagine" and "Amazing Grace" by Chris Tomlin.

The songs that minister to me depends on what is going on in life. An all time favorite is In Christ Alone and Awesome God. They help to remind me to look up and wait on His timing.

Hi - I have enjoyed your blog and your thoughts - I had a daughter who left to go to Scotland a few years back and spent 6 months there and 6 weeks additional in Italy. It was an awesome experience for her but for those of us left behind, a little worriesome! My 3 songs for awesome worship are:
Oh Hallelujah I have found Him, who my soul so long has craved,
Jesus satisfies my longing,
through His blood I now am saved!

and:
How many times must I prove how much I love you?
How many ways must my love to you I show?
How many times must I prove how much I love you for you to know just how much I love you....
Didn't I wake you up this morning - and you were clothed and in your right mind,
When you walked up on a problem,
didn't I step right in on time -
When you were weak along life's journey - my angels carried you
So you would know just how much I love you!

and;
On Christ the solid rock I stand
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.

His oath His covenant His blood
Support me in the 'whelming flood
When all around my soul gives way
He then is all my hope and stay.

On Christ the solid rock I stand
All other ground is sinking sand
All other ground is sinking sand.

Hope this helps! I found your blog through Bill Weaver's blog - don't know your relationship to him, but he's my cousin.

Again, God bless you in your quest -
